KCO – Kenya Cultural Festival in Guelph, A Day the Community Loved

The Kenya Community in Ontario (KCO) brought Guelph to life this past Saturday with its annual Kenya Cultural Festival, drawing families and visitors from across Ontario, and as far as Nunavut and Boston, for a day of food, music, traditional dance, and cultural celebration.

In this report by William Muyuku, the KCO president and Kenya’s High Commissioner to Canada speak on what the festival means for the Kenyan diaspora, the strength of community ties across provinces and borders, and the push for greater educational opportunities for Kenyans in Canada.

Highlights include free food and drinks, vendor kiosks showcasing local businesses, traditional dance performances, and a display of Kenya’s diverse regional costumes.
